About the Artist

Leslie Golden is a California landscape painter whose work celebrates the light, atmosphere, and changing seasons of Northern California. Working primarily in oils, she is inspired by the rolling hills of Mount Diablo, oak woodlands, coastal cliffs, and the Pacific shoreline. Her paintings are less about recording a place exactly than about capturing the feeling of being there.

Before devoting herself to fine art, Leslie worked as a licensed California landscape architect and urban designer. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design, with an emphasis in Landscape Architecture, and a Master of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. Her design background continues to influence her strong compositions, sense of space, and connection to the landscape.

Using expressive brushwork and luminous color, Leslie seeks to convey movement, mood, and a sense of place. Her original paintings are held in private collections throughout the United States. She works from her home studio in Lafayette, California, surrounded by the landscapes that continue to inspire her.
