Leslie is currently honing her oil painting skills on the quintessential California landscapes with rolling hills, Oak trees, Mt. Diablo, and seascapes.   She has a deep appreciation for the natural environment and built elements that evoke the memory of time gone by and evoke a sense of place.  She is interested in showing the movement that bring a painting to life.

Growing up in the East Coast, she spent many hours drawing the form and branches of grand trees outside her home window.  Leslie was given her first oil painting set at 12 years old and studied oil painting after school with Alton S. Tobey, an internationally renowned painter and illustrator.

Leslie then studied fine arts for two years at the college level focusing on drawing, oil painting, ceramics, and art history. She transferred from the fine arts to study Landscape Architecture, to find the biggest canvas she could find!

Leslie graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Environmental Design, Landscape Architectural major and a Master of Architecture.  For over two decades, her professional practice specialized in large scale urban design projects for cities, counties, and corporate clients.   She enjoyed infusing her projects with a unique sense of place.

After retirement from her professional career in Landscape Architecture, she studied watercolor with Leslie Wilson for five years. Leslie returned to oil painting and has studied with well know oil painters for two years; Randy Sexton, Leslie Tarzier, Gary Bergren and Shanna Kunz.
